A Modern Interpretation of Indian Bridal Fashion

Published on Style Me Pretty

It was an honor designing this stationery for Radhika, of Radian Photography. We wanted to embrace and highlight our favorite parts of Indian culture and design, with a focus on the modern Indian bride. I hand painted a marigold textile print for the custom envelope liner, which paid homage to the Indian textile industry. Going to fabric shoppes in India with my parents to pull beautifully detailed pieces to custom sew into dresses is one of my favorite memories of visiting India.

The marigolds were pulled into the rest of the suite in many ways- there was a blind pressed marigold border around the main invitation, with marigold ink letterpress printing. We have more marigolds blind pressed into the details and rsvp cards, finished with sage silk ribbon.

I absolutely loved the full white mehendi on the back of the model. Just a gorgeous homage to Indian culture, from start to finish.
